Week 564 – December 18th, 2021

There isn't a lot to write for this week's chart, but there are still some news. First of all there is a new #1. Austrian singer Esther Graf reached #1 for the first time with her single "Red flags". I really appreciate this song and I hope she is releasing this kind of songs more of. Surely her latest single is also up the chart, but this one is in another style. Down one spot is last week's #1 "Parfum" (#2, "Perfume") by LEA. As she has now two songs in the Top 3 she won't be very sad. Her latest smash "Küsse wie Gift" (#3, "Kisses like poison") climbed up three spots and is ready for a takeover in the very near future. Long-time #1 "Shivers" (#4) by Ed Sheeran dropped two spots, while "Raindrops" (#5) by Katja Krasavice & Leony climbed up two spots.

Falling out of the Top 5 are "G'fühl" (#6, "Feeling") by Melissa Naschenweng and "Easy on me" (#7) by Adele. So it is official that "Easy on me" won't be a #1 for me. These two songs are followed by two new songs in the Top 10. The higher ranked one is "Overpass graffiti" (#8) by Ed Sheeran. Maybe I should give his latest album a chance, but in overall I enjoyed more of his singles than his albums in the past. The other new one in the Top 10 is "Bite me" (#9) by Avril Lavigne. Everybody who is following my chart would have predicted this entry. I really like her music and hopefully she is releasing music for a long time. This week's Top 10 is rounded out with "A second to midnight" (#10) by Kylie Minogue.

The greatest gainer of the week is "Tschau tschau" (#19, "Bye bye") by Esther Graf. As I pointed out above this one is different from her #1 single, but not in a bad way for me. It is always nice to see when Austrian musicians are doing well for me. So beside this greatest gainer of the week there hasn't been happening a lot. Only two new songs found their way into this week's edition. Both songs are album cuts from Country/American singer Morgan Wade. For this week "Matches and metaphors" (#87) is ranked above "Other side" (#88) but as always things can change.
