Week 583 – April 30th, 2022

Last week I thought that this would be Tate McRae’s last week at the top. During my week in Poland with a school class visiting Auschwitz concentration camp and being part of the March of the Living I hadn’t a lot of time to listening to music. As a result Tate McRae is still shining bright from the top with her hit song “She’s all I wanna be” (#1) for now five weeks. She is followed by “Easy on me” (#2) by Rain Paris which now outperformed the original song performed by Adele. New in the Top 3 is “Funke, Flächenbrand” (#3, “Spark, wildfire”) by Austrian singer Mathea. For the first time in the Top 5 is Scottish singer Nina Nesbitt. Her song “When you lose somebody” (#4) climbed up two spots. Dropping three spots is last week’s runner up “Roses” (#5) by Alyssa Reid.

“In the dark” (#6) by Purple Disco Machine feat. Sophie and the Giants dropped out of the Top 5 for the first time in weeks. Next in line is the only song holding its spot in the Top 10 beside the #1 song. It is “Wenn du mich vermisst” (#8, “If you miss me”) by Fourty & Mathea. After these songs let’s welcome two new songs in this part of the chart. For the US band The Regrettes it is a premier to reach the Top 10. Their song “You’re so fucking pretty” (#9) climbed up two spots. Also climbing up two spots is “Clap your hands” (#10) by French Kungs. For him it is also his premier in this part of the chart.

As last week the greatest gainer of the week is a song from the Country genre. This week it is “Heavenly” (#54) by Karley Scott Collins. Her debut song climbed up 20 spots in its sixth charting week. As always, this information is followed by the information for the highest debut. This week the highest debut is by Austrian singer Josh.. He had his chart debut back in 2018 with “Cordula Grün” (peaked at #52). Last year he had a radio hit in Upper Austria with “Expresso & Tschianti” (“Expresso & Chianti”) and the listeners from the radio station “Life Radio” voted this song to their favourite song just two weeks ago. Now he is back with his latest single “Von dir ein Tattoo” (#43, “A tattoo of you”) which just missed the Top 40. This one isn’t the only song debuting within the Top 50. The other one is “About damn time” (#45) by Lizzo.

Other debuts are “Run into trouble” (#56) by Alok & Bastille, “Ganz normal” (#57, “Absolutely normal”) by Revelle, “En el coche” (#58, “In the car”) by Aitana, “Swimmingpool” (#70, “Swimming pool”) and “Sommer” (#71, “Summer”) – this one had been a hit in 2021 with Beatzarre & Djorkaeff & Capital Bra a now she debuts solo – by LEA, “Llueve sobre mojado” (#84, “When it rains it pours”) by Pablo Alborán & Aitana & Álvaro De Luna, “Take my hand” (#91) by 5 Seconds of Summer, “Not friends” (#92) by Loona, “Ping pong” (#93) by Hyuna & Dawn, “Adrenaline” (#95) by James Blunt feat. Jason Zhang, “God thing” (#96) by Anne Wilson, “One day” (#97) by Monsta X, “Never knew a heart could break itself (#98) by Zach Hood.
