Week 595 – July 23rd, 2022

Back at the top is Country singer Morgan Wade. Her album cut “Last cigarette” (#1) took over in its 9th charting week. It’s her 3rd #1 from her debut album “Reckless”. I love her voice and her songs so that I hope that she won’t be a one-album-wonder. She is followed by Spanish singer Aitana and her duet partner sangiovanni with their song “Mariposas” (#2, “Butterflies”). This song surprisingly failed to reach the top spot. Dropping two spots is former #1 “En el coche” (#3, “In the car”) by Aitana. Next in line and holding its spot is “Lies” (#4) by Pale Waves. Up three spots into the Top 5 is “Message in a bottle” (#5) by Taylor Swift.

While “Message in a bottle” climbed into the Top 5 Austrian singer Josh. had to leave this part with his #1 smash “Von dir ein Tattoo” (#6, “A tattoo of you”). This song is followed by another former Austrian #1 hit. “Funke, Flächenbrand” (#7, “Spark, wildfire”) by Mathea which also dropped one spot. Climbing up one spot is “What it feels like” (#8) by Natalie Imbruglia. This song is caught between two former #1’s. “Funke, Flächenbrand” is the higher ranked one, while “Run” (#9) by Morgan Wade is definitely on its way out. New in the Top 10 is “Tattoos” (#10) by Karley Scott Collins. For her this is the first Top 10.

German singer Provinz climbed up 18 spots with “17 für immer” (#43, “17 forever”) in its 6th charting week. For this the song is awarded with the greatest gainer of the week. Directly behind you can find the highest debut which is by Austrian Revelle. She entered the chart with “Kein ja / kein nein” (#44, “No yes / no no”). I really like this song and maybe this one will become her 1st hit in the Top 10. This song is also the only song debuting in the Top 50.
