Week 596 – July 30^th, 2022

Last week “Last cigarette” (#1) by Morgan Wade reached the top spot. As her other #1 songs “Last cigarette” is now topping the chart for its 2nd week. Maybe this song is getting one more week, but for the moment I’m not sure. Directly behind are Pale Waves. “Lies” (#2) climbed up two songs. Their songs from their upcoming album are all promising so I decided to pre-order their new album “Unwanted”. For them “Lies” is their 1st hit in the Top 3. Dropping one spot is “Mariposas” (#3, “Butterflies”) by sangiovanni & Aitana. Although this is a step back don’t make the failure to count them out for #1. Up one spot is “Message in a bottle” (#4) by Taylor Swift. Former #1 “En el coche” (#5, “In the car”) by Aitana dropped two spots.

Next in line are two songs with a very similar theme and title. The higher ranked one is “Von dir ein Tattoo” (#6, “A tattoo of you”) by Austrian singer Josh. which has spent 2 weeks at the top. The other one is in its 2nd week in the Top 10. It is country pop by rising star – at least for me – Karley Scott Collins. Her song “Tattoos” (#7) climbed up three spots. Austrian Esther Graf returned very strong in this part of the chart with her recent single “sad = sexy” (#8) after climbing up six spots. Caught between this new song in the Top 10 and the 2nd Top 10 debut is “What it feels like” (#9) by Natalie Imbruglia. The other Top 10 debut is by Muna with “What I want” (#10).

The song awarded with the award for the greatest gainer is “Selfish” (#72) by Bow Anderson. This song climbed up 16 spots in its 3rd charting week. This song is growing on me so hopefully this one will end in the Top 50 at least. The highest debut can be found in the Top 30. It is the recent single “What he didn’t do” (#23) by Carly Pearce. This song could bring her back into the Top 10. Unfortunately, this song is the only debut within the Top 50.

Other debuts are “Weekend lover” (#55) by Nico Santos, “Bad idea” (#58) by Loi, “Mine” (#73) and “Closer” (#84) by PRIZM, “Third wheel” (#77) by Zoe Wees, “Ich warte auf die Nacht” (#78, “I wait for tonight”) by Linda Hesse, “If he wanted to he would” (#88) by Kylie Morgan, “All summer” (#90) by Little Big Town, “Whiskey on you” (#93) by Nate Smith, “Kitchen floor” (#96) by clide and “She ain’t that girl” (#97) by Tainted Lyric.
