Week 672 – January 13th, 2024

Last week “Versprich mir du gehst“ (#2, “Promise me you‘ll go”) by Madeline Juno x 1986zig took over and this week it dropped one spot. Once more a song only lasted one week at the top. This week Italian Annalisa reached the throne with her song “Euforia” (#1, “Euphoria”). I hope that this one will stay for at least two weeks. More is difficult to predict as there are two strong contenders. First to mention is “Bei niemand anders” (#4, “With no one else”) by Wanda and the other one is “You & me” (#6) by Jennie. For her it is the first time reaching the Top 10 solo. With Blackpink she had a #1 hit. Hands up who remembers “Lovesick girls” which stayed at the top for five weeks. Still in the Top 5 are “Ragazza sola” (#3, “Lonely girl”) by Annalisa and “AQYNE” (#5) by Aitana & Danna Paola.

In the bottom half of the Top 10 are three songs which dropped one spot each. These are “Into your room” (#7) by Holly Humberstone, “1987” (#8) by Diamante and “Easy” (#9) by Alexandra Kay. Rounding out this week’s Top 10 is another song which can be found in part of the chart for the first time. It is “Rebel child” (#10) by Dylan. For her it is a return to this part. The last time she had a Top 10 hit had been in September 2022 with “Girl of your dreams”.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Thousand miles” (#17) by Miley Cyrus feat. Brandi Carlile which climbed up 19 spots. Unfortunately, there are no debuts in this week’s Top 50. The highest failed to enter the Top 50 by six spots and is by my favorite artist Anouk. Her latest single “Are you done running” (#56) enter just outside the Top 50 and is her first single in English since 2022 as she released “Something better” from her album “Trails of fails”. “Are you done running” is her first single from “Deena & Jim”. When I first listened to “Are you done running” I instantly thought that this song is from her album 2013 album “Sad singalong songs”. Hopefully this new single brings her back to the Top 10.
