Week 673 – January 20th, 2024

 Annalisa is breaking the latest curse of spending only one week at the top and spends another week at the top with her recent smash “Euforia” (#1, “Euphoria”). I’m pretty sure that she will spend at least one more week at the top before another song will take over. New at the runner’s up spot is “Bei niemand anders” (#2, “With no one else”) by Austrian band Wanda. Could they return to #1 for the first time in years? Maybe, but I’m not sure. Next in line is former #1 “Versprich mir du gehst” (#3, “Promise me you’ll go“) by Madeline Juno x 1986zig. Up two spots and reaching the Top 5 for the first time solo is Jennie from Blackpink with her song “You & me” (#4). Rounding out this week’s Top 5 is “Ragazza sola” (#5, “Lonely girl”) by Annalsia.

Dropping out of the Top 5 is “AQYNE” (#6) by Annalisa & Danna Paola. This one is followed by another former #1. “Into your room” (#7) by Holly Humberstone is holding its spot while “Easy” (#8) by Alexandra Kay, also a former #1, climbed up one spot. New in the Top 10 is “Freezing” (#9) by Mimi Webb. Here I’m late on the hype, but hey it’s my chart and so I see no problem. Holding its spot in the Top 10 is “Rebel child” (#10) by Dylan.

Rising 17 spots earns “Turbulence” (#21) by Pink the award for the greatest gainer of the week. It lasted only six weeks to knock at the door to the Top 20. As always, this information is followed by the information about the highest debut. This week there is no debut within the Top 50 and only one song managed to debut in the Top 60. It is “Wanted it to be you” (#57) by Norwegian singer Sigrid. This is a song I gave a 2nd chance and here it is. Because of this fact I’m not sure where the journey will end, but hopefully this song will end in the Top 30. The 2nd best debut is by German singer Joel Brandenstein who teamed up for his latest single with German singer Sarah Engels. “Jemand” (#61, “Somebody”) isn’t the typical song I’m listening to, but I really like their duet. Then there is “Lose control” (#62) which finally got its debut. I listened to this song by Teddy Swims a long time ago, but recently this song got its chart debut all over Europe including Austria. So I gave it another try and as “Wanted it to be you” it landed on my chart and the journey is fully open.
