Week 674 – January 27th, 2024

It’s now three weeks that “Euforia” (#1, “Euphoria”) by Annalisa is topping the chart. It hasn't been close with “Bei niemand anders” (#2, “With no one else”) by Wanda behind although I really love this one too. A bigger concurrence is “You & me” (#3) by Jennie. It could be her 1st solo #1 and also the 2nd KPOP #1 following “Lovesick girl” by Blackpink which is surely no coincidence as she is a regular member of that band. Finally, I had time to look over the KPOP charts of 2023 so there will be a bunch of songs out of this genre debuting over the next weeks. I hope that I will keep track this time. Next in line are “Versprich mir du gehst” (#4, “Promise me you’ll go“) by Madeline Juno & 1986zig and “Ragazza sola” (#5, “Lonely girl”) by Annalisa.

Still near the Top 5 is former #1 “AQYNE” (#6) by Aitana & Danna Paola. Up two spots is “Freezing” (#7) by Mimi Webb. Then there are three new songs in the Top 10. The highest ranked among these songs is the album cut “Thousand miles” (#8) by Miley Cyrus feat. Brandi Carlile. For the first time in this part of the chart are Leigh-Anne feat. Ayra Starr with “My love” (#9). Fedez and Articolo 31 are debuting in the Top 10 alongside Annalisa. Their party track “Disco Paradise” (#10) is doing very well after climbing up 4 spots in its 6th charting week to reach the Top 10 spot.

Climbing up the chart very fast is LANY with their album track “’til I don’t” (#27). This week this song got awarded as greatest gainer of the week after climbing up 21 spots. The only song debuting in this week’s Top 50 is by Austrian singer Christina Stürmer. In my eyes her song “Ein halbes Leben” (#44, “Half a life”) is a potential Top 10 hit. The 2nd best debut is “Beautiful eyes” (#59) by Amy Shark which failed to enter the Top 50 by a few spots. Among the rest of the debuts is “Can’t help falling in love” (#89) by Kacey Musgraves. Here I’m very late on the party, but I just saw the movie and back when the original song was released I decided to chart this song only when I have watched the film.

Other debuts are “Killer” (#82) by FKA twigs, “Can’t get enough” (#86) by Jennifer Lopez – by the way I really love her video to this song –, “Whatever” (#88) by Kygo & Ava Max, “Never be alone” (#94) by Becky Hill & Sonny Fodera, “No strings” (#96) by X Ambassadors, “Hostage” (#97) by Maggie Lindemann, “No caller ID” (#98) by Megan Moroney and “Makeup” (#99) by Madeline Merlo.
