Week 676 – February 10th, 2024

In the end it had been clear that Jennie will get her 1st #1 on my chart. Definitely a very good choice, at least in my eyes. “You & me” (#1) climbed up one spot and replaced “Euforia” (#2, “Euphoria”) by Italian singer Annalisa. Next in line are three former #1’s which all climbed up one spot. So, there is the return into the Top 3 by Madeline Juno x 1986zig whit their hit song “Versprich mir du gehst” (#3, “Promise me you’ll go”). Directly behind is “Ragazza sola” (#4, “Lonely girl”) by Annalisa followed by “AQYNE” (#5) by Aitana & Danna Paola.

Up three spots and on the jump into the Top 5 is “Disco Paradise” (#6) by Fedez, Annalisa & Articolo 31. Also in the hunt for a Top 5 spot is “My love” (#7) by Leigh-Anne feat. Ayra Starr which is the highest ranked song in English. Since December there hadn’t been a song in English in my Top 5 which is really weird. Dropping five spots is “Bei niemand anders” (#8, “With no one else”) by Wanda. This one is followed by the only new song in the Top 10. Pink is returning with “Turbulence” (#9). Rounding out this week’s Top 10 is “Thousand miles” (#10) by Miley Cyrus feat. Brandi Carlile after dropping three spots.

This week Pale Waves finally made a move. Their song “Act my age” (#38) climbed up 18 spots in its 4th charting week and is awarded for the greatest gainer of the week. Their other charting song from “Unwanted” climbed up 13 spots and so “So sick (of missing you) landed at #45. This brings me to the highest debut. It is by Indonesian singer Shania Yan who debuts with a cover of an eighty’s classic. In the 1980’s singer Megan Reilly had several hits with Mike Oldfield. Her biggest solo hit had been “Everytime we touch” from her debut album “Echoes” back in 1991 which surprisingly failed to enter the British charts. Shania Yan brings this song back at #18 with a bright future. This is the only debut within the Top 50.

Other debuts are “Fall for you” (#73) by Tenille Arts, “Nothing but love” (#84) by LU KALA, “Scared to start” (#91) by Michael Marcagi, “Everything almost” (#94) by Madi Diaz, “Naughty” (#95) by DeVita and “Wanna love you” (#96) by H3rizon.
