Week 682 – March 23rd, 2024

 For the third time in a row “Killer” (#1) by FKA twigs is leading the pack and I’m still not over it. Also holding its spot in the Top 2 is former #1 “You & me” (#2) by Jennie. Both songs will end in the list among my favourite songs of 2024. Reaching the Top 3 for the first time in her career is US singer TAELA. Her breakup hymn “Keep you demons” (#6) climbed up three spots. I absolutely love her voice and the songs from her album “Life’s a bitch… but it gets better” which is the sequel to the EP’s “Life’s a bitch” and “Life’s a bitch… still”. If you haven’t checked her songs out, you should give her a chance. Dropping out of the Top 3 is “Are you done running” (#4) by Anouk. Next in line is “Ein halbes Leben” (#5, “A half life”) by Christina Stürmer.

“Euforia” (#6) by Annalisa dropped two spots and is followed by the highest ranked cover song which is still “Everytime we touch” (#7) by Shania Yan. Up five spots and finally in the Top 10 is “Überall” (#8) by Esther Graf & Montez. Believe it or not yesterday I heard this song for the first time on my favourite radio station. This was the first time ever I heard a song by Esther Graf on the radio. “Überall” is followed by another new song in the Top 10. It is “When I go” (#9) by Dylan Conrique. Rounding out this week’s Top 10 is “ ‘til I don’t” (#10) by LANY.

Two weeks ago Austrian singer Ella Stern got her chart debut with “R&J” (#21, “Romeo & Juliet”). This week her song climbed up 19 spots and got is now the greatest gainer of the week. The highest debut is by German singer Madeline Juno. Wait what? You’ve read it correctly. Madeline Juno has back to back the highest debut. This week “Was zu verlieren” (#51, “What to lose”) it is another single from her latest album “Nur zu Besuch” (“Only to visit) while it had been last week a song from KLAN’s album “Das Ende der Welt” (“The end of the world”).

Other debuts are “Hotel heartache” (#80) by Thorsteinn Einarsson, “Ain’t no mountain high” (#81) by Cascada – her I believe this song will only get a short run on my chart –, “Who cares” (#82) by Mi Casa x Malik Harris, “Ich” (#84, “I”) by PANTHA, “Nur noch ein Lied” (#86, “Just one more song”) by Bosse & LEA, “Freier Fall” (#87, “Freefall”) by Berky & LEA, “Welt” (#89, “World) by LEA, “Zu laut?” (#91, “Too loud?”) by Matakustix, “Drown” (#95) by Justin Timberlake, “Wie ein Mädchen” (#96, “Like a girl”) by SOPHIA, “Let me write you a love song” (#97) by Clara Louise and “Wieso tun wir uns weh?” (#98, “How do we hurt ourselves?”) by Nisa x DELA.
