Week 187 – September 27th, 2014

Last week Anouk busted the Top 3. “Places to go” (#3) is the first single from her upcoming album, but failed to do the last step to the top this week. After a very good debut “Places to go” only stayed at the same spot like last week. This brings me to this week’s #1. It’s the same I had last week. Hilary Duff’s “All about you” (#1) is still topping the chart with its catchiness while Juli didn’t managed to come back with “Insel” (#2). It will be hard for them to return although “Insel” is a very good song and maybe the best song from their album with the same title. Former #1 “The great unknown” (#4) by Jukebox The Ghost hold the spot and so the whole Top 4 didn’t change from last week. The Top 5 is completed by Taylor Swift. Like last week. But this week it’s “Shake it off” (#5) from her upcoming album “1989”.

“Starlight” (#7) the other Top 10 hit by Taylor Swift dropped down two spots and is at the moment the best of three songs in the Top 10 which never have been released as regular singles. The others are “Ma che vita fai” (#8) by Emma and “Wir schmeißen unsere Herzen ins Feuer” (#9) by Revolverheld which is new in the Top 10. Fitz and the Tantrums are climbing form peak to peak. “Fools gold” (#6) missed the Top 5 by one spot, but could enter this part by next week. At the bottom of the Top 10 Austrian band Tagträumer can be found with their 2nd #1 single “Mein Herz (für immer)” (#10).

Over the last weeks Ariana Grande characterized the Top 10. This week her last Top 10 hit with Zedd “Break free” (#11) dropped out. Her chart topper “Problem” (#14) dropped one, but is still among the top songs of my chart. Walk The Moon entered the chart last week at #14. This week “Shut up and dance” (#12) climbed up two spots and should reach the Top 10 next week. Yet Macy Kate occurred only with her cover songs or with her participation in the US version of “Rising star” with her own song and single “You gave me love” (#17) she reached the Top 20 and let songs like “Peter Pan” (#18) by Jillette Johnson behind.

Generally this week is uneventful. The greatest gainer of the week is from New Zealand newcomer band Broods. Their song “Everytime” (#25) climbed up 17 spots from last weeks debut and is a good heartache song. Behind “Everytime” there you find nothing spectacular. The highest new entry comes from Season 5 participant of the US Version of “The Voice”. Jacquie Lee’s debut “Broken ones” (#56) is very interesting, but failed to debut directly within the Top 50. The other debuts are “Still young” (#87) and “Hummingbird” (#88) by Ben Montague, “You ruin me” (#89) by The Veronicas, “Dragon” (#91) by Miriam Bryant, “Look at you” (#92) by Big & Rich, “Geronimo” (#97) by Sheppard, “Wrong song” (#98) by Connie Britton & Hayden Panettiere, “Gewinnen” (#99, “Win”) by Cassandra Steen and “No no no (please don’t go) by Guenta K..
