Week 493 – August 8th, 2020

Last week Liam Gallagher scored his first #1. His single, an Oasis’ song from 1994, sprinted up four spots to #1. This week “Sad songs” (#1) defended its title. Sure if you’re looking over the chart you’ll notice that most of the songs in the Top 10 didn’t move. Next in line is Emma with three songs in a row. All of these songs didn’t move and so “Quando l’amore finisce” (#2, “When love ends”) is still in the runner’s up spot, “Alibi” (#3) completes the podium and former #1 “Luci blu” (#4, “Blue lights”) is rounding out this trio. Now in its 18th week on chart is “I love you” (#5) by Anouk. This former #1 is fighting against its drop out of the Top 5 and for this week it all went well.

Dagny tried it last week and this week too, but she failed to place her single “Somebody” (#6) within the Top 5. As this song is in its 9th week on chart I doubt that I will enter the Top 5 in the future. The same could be sad about “Oxygen” (#7) by Winona Oak & Robin Schulz and “7 Stunden” (#8, “7 hours”) by LEA & Capital Bra but these songs climbed up one or else two spots. These songs are followed by two new songs in the Top 10. The higher ranked one is Carly Rae Jepsen’s “This love isn’t crazy” (#9). The other one is “Crowded room” (#10) by Selena Gomez feat. 6lack (#10). Both songs climbed up three spots.

The greatest gainer of the week “Houseparty” (#60) by Annalisa which debuted outside the Top 90 two weeks ago. Moving up 21 spots earns her this award. The highest debut is “90 days” (#61) by Pink feat. Wrable. Although there has been a video release over year ago “90 days” has never been confirmed as an official or promotional single. Therefore it lasted a while before I started charting this song with this week’s edition although I’ve bought her album “Hurts 2B human” and I’m known as someone who’s charting ever songs from bought albums. The 2nd best debut is also from this album. It is “Courage” (#62).
