Week 531 – May 1st, 2021

For Annalisa this week is as well as good and bad. On the one hand her former #1 "Tsunami" left the chart after 28 weeks. On the other hand her song "Nuda" (#1, "Naked") did the last step and climbed up to #1. For me it is definitely a reason to celebrate. "Drivers licence" (#2) by Olivia Rodrigo dropped one spot while the rest of the Top 5 is holding their spots. So Madeline Juno's latest hit single "Lass mich los" (#3, "Let me go") is still rounding out the Top 3. The rest of the non-moving songs in the Top 5 are "OK love you bye" (#4) by Olivia Dean and "Allein" (#5, "Alone") by Gestört Aber GeiL feat. Tina Naderer.

Up three spots and knocking heavily at the door to the Top 5 is Maisie Peters. Her song "John Hughes movie" is a real gem in my ears and hopefully it will do well for others too. This song is followed by the only new song in the Top 10. German singer Mandy Capristo reached this part for the first time with her recent single "Genug" (#7, "Enough"). Next in line is former #1 "Schwarz" (#8, "Black") by LEA who is also debuting with a new single in this week's chart. Then "Next girl" (#9) by country singer Carly Pearce climbed up another spot to score a 2nd week in the Top 10 although this song is now in its 13th week on chart. For all who love country music this song is also for a 2nd week in a row my Country #1. And last but not least German singer Max Giesinger still can be found in the Top 10 with "Irgendwann ist jetzt" (#10, "Sometime is now") although this song dropped three spots.

In these days German songs are ruling my chart although I mostly ignore German rap songs. So you shouldn't be surprised that another German song is awarded for the greatest gainer of the week. It is Schlager pop single "Ruf nicht mehr an" (#33, "Don't call anymore") by Vanessa Mai. This song climbed up 14 spots in its 3rd charting week. The highest debut is a German duet by Mark Forster and LEA. Their song is a typical song by LEA who had recently two #1 songs from her "Treppenhaus" ("Staircase") album. "Drei Uhr Nachts" ("Three o'clock am") is debuting just outside the Top 50 at #51. As I hadn't really time to listen to new music for this week's chart I listened to this song very late this week. So it failed to enter the chart higher. You can definitely expect a big climb in the next edition.
