Week 555 – October 16th , 2021
In the middle of October Morgan Wade
is still dreaming of the "Wilder days" (#1) at the top of the chart. At
the moment nothing could be better for her than staying at the top of
my country and my Top 100 chart. Still in the hunt is Franzi Harmsen
with "Zweieinhalb Sekunden" (#2, "Two and a half seconds"). Although I
really love this one she has now another one in the Top 5 which also
could do the last step. "Nie mehr" (#4, "No more") climbed up two spots.
Also climbing up two spots is "Wenn du mich lässt" (#3, "If you let
me") by LEA. For her this year couldn't have been better so far.
This one could be her 6th #1 in total and her 5th as main act in 2021.
Rounding out this week's Top 5 is "Du trägst keine Liebe in dir" (#5,
"You carry no love in you") by Ninja POW! & Franzi Harmsen.
For now a spot in the Top 10 goes either to Franzi Harmsen or to LEA. Franzi Harmsen has now three songs in the Top 5 while LEA
has one in the Top 5 and three more between the spots 6 to 10. The
higher ranked one in this part of the chart is her former #1 "Schwarz"
(#6, "Black") with Casper which left the Top 5 after dropping two
spots. Next in line is "Sylt 98" (#7) and new in this part is her song
"Kaputt" (#9, "Broken"). Caught between all these songs by LEA is the former #1 "Tu was du willst" (#8, "Do what you want") by Madeline Juno. The only other new song in the Top 10 beside "Kaputt" is "Stark" (#10, "Strong") by Sarah Connor.
This leads to the fact that you can find nine songs in German and only
one song in English in my Top 10 this week which is absolutely record
breaking. I can't even remember when I listened to such an amount of
songs in my mother tongue.
I have pointed out that LEA is
dominating the Top 10 and last week she was awarded with the greatest
gainer of the week for her latest single. This week this single "Parfum"
(#28, "Perfume") climbed up 12 spots and is awarded again with the
greatest gainer of the week. This song will definitely soon enter the
Top 10. This brings me to this week's debuts. Two of the songs have done
very well. The highest debut is no surprise. As Adele released a
short sequence of her new single this one has been on my short list.
Now she is returning after a long break very strong with "Easy on me"
(#18). Strong isn't really describing this debut. "Easy on me" is the
first song which is debuting within the Top 20 in 2021 and the first one
since 24th October 2020 when later #1 "Lovesick girls" by Blackpink
debuted. Only for a Top 10 debut I'm waiting longer. The last debut in
the Top 10 had been "Ein Lied für jetzt" ("A song for now") by Die Ärzte which debuted directly at #1 on 28th March 2020.
So
this is definitely astonishing. Even more astonishing is that "Easy on
me" isn't the only song which is debuting in this week's Top 20. The
other one is "The feeling" (#20) by Gabry Ponte & Henri PFR. For both this is their first song they placed on my chart. On the other hand Gabry Ponte is well known as part of Eiffel 65
who had a big hit with "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" – my favourite by them – back
in 1998. Most of you only know this one and one or two of their older
hits. This year they had a big hit in Italy with "Auto blu" ("Blue car")
which had been their first #1 since 1999.
Other debuts are "Was ich will" (#74, "What I want") by Tina Naderer, "Red flags" (#87) by Esther Graf – apart from the title this song is in German –, "Zeichen" (#88, "Sign") by Antje Schomaker, "Who's in your head" (#89) by Jonas Brothers, "Hurricane" (#90) by Ofenbach & Ella Henderson, "Don't break the heart" (#92) by Tom Grennan, "The feels" (#93) by TWICE, "Ghost" (#95) by Justin Bieber, "Monday" (#96) by The Regrettes, "My universe" (#97) by Coldplay & BTS and "Ich bin so verliebt" (#98, "I'm so in love") by Marie Reim.
