Week 647 – July 22nd, 2023

 Morgan Wade is holding the top spot with “Psychopath” (#1) for a 2nd week. This is maybe her last week at the top with this song because there is new concurrence on board. Still at the runner’s up spot is “Favorite kind of high” (#2) by Kelly Clarkson. This song is caught between by two song by Morgan Wade. Her other Top 3 hit is “Through your eyes” (#6) after climbing up three spots. Next in line is former #1 “Temporary” (#4) by Alexa Cappelli. This one is followed by the biggest sensation. I’ve a debut within the Top 10! This is the first Top 10 debut since December 2022 when JuJu debuted with “Nie wieder sehen” (#23) which is still in the Top 30 although leaving the Top 20 in this week’s edition for the first time. The sensation is even bigger as the debut is by Austrian band Tagtraeumer which recently released their first single since “Metronom” (“Metronome”) released late in 2018 which charted until June 2019 and peaked at #7. “Alles und mehr” (“Everything and more”, #5) is a candidate for reaching #1 which could be the bands 7th since their debut in 2014 with “Sinn” (“Sense”) which is still my favourite by them.

Dropping out of the Top 5 are Pale Waves with “Without you” (#6) and “Only problem” (#7). These are followed by another song by Morgan Wade. This time it is a cover of a classic by Elvis Presley. “Suspicious minds” (#8) climbed up three spots. It is followed by “Exes” (#9) by Esther Graf. And there is another new song in the Top 10. It is “Jaded” (#10) by Miley Cyrus.

The award for the greatest gainer of the week goes to Taylor Swift with her song “The very first time” (#27). This song is awarded for the 2nd time in a row. Also by her is the 2nd best debut. “I can see you” (#47) is her latest official single and the release to promote “Speak now (Taylor’s version)”. Other debuts are “Belongs with you” (#81) by Munn, “Supernova” (#83) by Julia Cole, “The in between” (#84) by Khloe Rose, “Angel eyes” (#86) by ÁSDÍS, “Arcade” (#88) by Laura Bilgeri – her father had several hits in the 1980s in Austria –, “Watermelon moonshine” (#89) by Lainey Wilson, “Where does that leave me” (#90) by Chelsea Berman, “Change your mind” (#91) by Alex Warren, “That part” (#95) by Lauren Spencer-Smith, “Flashing lights” (#96) by Maléna, “Me, myself & I” (#97) by Mae Muller and “10 von 10” (#100, “10 out of 10”) by Julia Meladin.
