Week 659 – October 14th, 2023

Here we go again. As last week there is a new song at #1. This time it is the first #1 for British singer Holly Humberstone who finally released her debut album this week. Her song “Superbloodmoon” (#1) with d4vd for whom it is also his 1st #1 climbed up two spots. Only one week at the #1 had been “Sofia” (#2) by Austrian singer fiio. Down one spot is former four times #1 “Du und L.A.” (#3, “You and L.A.”) by Clueso. Holding its spot in the Top 5 is “We’re not in love anymore” (#4) by Knox feat. Charlotte Sands. New in this part of the chart is “Runaway” (#5) by P!nk.

This means that “Alles und mehr” (#6, “Everything and more”) by Tagtraeumer had to leave the Top 5 after dropping one spot. Directly behind you can find “The apology I’ll never receive” (#7) by RØRY. Next in line is “Verletzen” (#8, “Hurting”) by Silbermond. Last but not least there are two songs on their way out of the Top 10. First to mention is “Lovesong” (#9) by Madeline Juno which dropped three spots. The other one is “Summer fling” (#10) by Chloe Jane which dropped two spots.

The award for the greatest gainer of the week goes to three different songs in this week’s edition. All three songs climbed up 13 spots. The highest ranked one is “Long story short” (#18) by Taylor Swift. The 2nd highest one is “Care less” (#20) by LANY which had been awarded last week too. And the third one is “Italodisco” (#37) by The Kolors. So let’s see where the highest ranked debut song can be found. It is another song by Holly Humberstone who is realising more singles from her debut album to promote it. So you can find “Into your room” at #46 and the title track of this album “Paint my bedroom black” at #47. This makes four songs from this album on the chart. The third best debut is “Pieces” (#48) by Dylan Conrique. Also debuting in the Top 50 is “Fake as hell” (#49) by All Time Low & Avril Lavigne. Avril Lavinge is always appreciated on my chart and so its no wonder to find this song on this list, but there is one song which I’m really late on the party. It is the 2015 soundtrack single “California dreamin’ ” (#87) by Sia. By the way I’ve not seen the film San Andreas, but back to the topic. This week I unlocked the multi-purpose hall for the students of the last year on our school for their prom dance trial. After my school day I had to wait half an hour before their trial ended and I had to lock the hall. During this time I had to listen to this song over and over again. So, this is the reason why this song finally got its debuts more than eight years after its release.
