Week 736 – April 5th, 2025

Last week Sarah Connor reached the top spot with “Heut’ ist alles gut” (#1, “Today everything is okay”) for the first time in her career. It was a little bit surprising, but she defended the crown and maybe the window for the top spot for “Augenblick” (#2, “Moment”) by 01099 is over. Up two spots and into the Top 3 is “Was passiert” (#3, “What happens”) by ok.danke.tschüss. Former #1’s “Just friends” (#4) by Leslie Clio and “Irgendwohin” (#5, “Somewhere”) by Antje Schomaker feat. Eva Briegel had to drop two spots. These two songs are on their end of the run in the Top 5 and should be bottom half of the Top 10 by next week.

Knocking at the door to the Top 5 is COSBY with their infectious song “Crazy” (#6) which is up two spots. Climbing up three spots are the next two songs. Absnt Mind did it with “No strings” (#7) within the Top 10. From outside “Anomalie” (#8, “Anomaly”) by Madeline Juno did it. The following two songs also can be found for the first time in the Top 10. Italian Emma returns with “Sentimentale” (#9, “Sentimental”) after climbing up five spots. “Dear me” (#10) by Kesha rose up three spots.

This week country singer Dasha had a very good week. Her latest single “Not at this party” (#31) climbed up 51 spots and landed just outside the Top 30. I’m not sure that she will continue climbing up the chart so fast in the future, but for this week she got the award for the greatest gainer. Only a handful new songs got their debut. The highest one is “Nur ein Wort” (#59, “Only one word”). German actor and singer Noah Krauss. He is rapping to the 2005 hit “Nur ein Wort” by German band Wir Sind Helden which is the connection to his rap part. This new interpretation isn’t bad, but I really doubt that this one will have a long run on my chart. Unfortunately there is no new work by Wir Sind Helden in sight after the started their hiatus back in 2012. They had been my favourite German band back in the early 2000’s and I still love their first three albums.

Other debuts are “Risk” (#83) and “Felt good about you” (#87) by Gracie Abrams, “Beautiful as you” by Thomas Rhett – here I’m late as this song has been released back in May 2024 –, “LOVE LOOKS PRETTY ON YOU” (#94) by Nessa Barrett, “She runs hot” (#95) by Ghost Hounds and “Alles was bleibt” (#98, “All that remains”) by SAMIRA & Milano.
