Week 804 – August 1st, 2026

I’m ready for this week’s review. I hope you are too! Ayane is holding the top spot again with her #1 hit “キミがいないと” (#1, “Without you”). I don’t feel that this one will last as long as her former #1 hit “ごめんね” (#11, I’m sorry) which just left the Top 10, but two #1 songs in a row isn’t bad from an artist I’ve not heard before. Also non-moving is “Vicky Lynn” (#2) by Anouk. Back at the podium is Austrian singer Esther Graf with her former #1 “Dafür war es echt” (#3, “At least it was real”). For the first time in the Top 5 is “Pfeil und Bogen” (#4, “Bow and arrow”) by Mathea. For her it is a comeback in this part of the chart. Back up the chart is “Moonlight” (#5) by Jung Soyeon which had to leave the Top 5 last week.

Dropping out of the Top 5 are two songs. First to mention is “How to clear a room” (#6) by Anouk. The other one is a bigger surprise. Dropping five spots is “Hit me where it hurts” (#8) by Elle Coves. Last week it had been at the podium. Caught between these songs is “Ohne dich” (#7, “Without you”) by DELA. In at #9 is “Look at my life” by Gracie Abrams. This is now her 1st Top 10 hit from her latest album “Daughter from hell” as the first single from this album “Hit the wall” (#12) failed again to reach this part. Rounding out this week’s Top 10 again is former #1 hit “Dance alone” (#10) by Zior Park.

Last week K-Pop dominated the new entries. This week there are some more songs debuting out of this genre, but the highest debut is by an artist I’ve not heard before. Dylan Matthew teamed up with Joan who had a minor hit back in 2022 with “Window shopping” (peaked at #96). “WANTURBODY” (#34) entered the Top 40 and is easily their biggest hit for me. I like this catchy song, and it should do well, but as the chart is really young this week it’s hard to predict how far it will go for them. The 2nd best debut is by British singer Ella Eyre. She just released the cover of the Gnarls Barkley hit “Crazy”. Her version with the BBC Concert Orchestra is in at #48. If you haven’t listened to this song’s version you should. One spot behind is another debut in the Top 50. It is “UNDER WATER” (#49) by Enisa. For her this is her first chart appearance since her debut back in 2021 with “Tears hit the ground” (peaked at #98). Debuting in the Top 50 too is Elley Duhé. She had only three chart appearances before. Her biggest hit hat been her song “Love me hard” (peaked at #6 in 2020). Now she is in with “This side of heaven” (#50)
