Tagtraeumer – Sicherer Hafen

Points: 1052.5
Peak: #9
Weeks: 20 (still charting)
Album: Unendlich eins
Airplay: #49

The next set of this review is opening with another song by Tagtraeumer. This time it is their album cut “Sicherer Hafen” (“Safe harbour”). It reached my Top 10 for a single week back in October. The long activity helped to reach such a good position.

Tagtraeumer – Alle Farben

Points: 1054.1
Peak: #6
Weeks: 18
Album: Unendlich eins
Airplay: #71

Here they are again. “Alle Farben” (“All colours”) is the fourth hit song by Tagtraeumer within my year-end Top 100. This song stayed four weeks in my Top 10 and this helped this song to outperform “Sicherer Hafen”. Until I present you their #1 hit “Pfeile” (“Arrows”) it will take a while. So lean back and enjoy this song if you’re listening to this song right now.

Grace VanderWaal – Clearly

Points: 1064.2
Peak: #5
Weeks: 18
Album: -
Airplay: #75

Grace VanderWaal is the youngest artist in this list. Only 14 year old she released the single “Clearly” which samples the classic “I can see clearly now”. It is a powerful song which put her on the list of possible future stars. Everything is possible, but only the future will tell.

Selena Gomez – Perfect

Points: 1067.2
Peak: #3
Weeks: 24
Album: Revival
Airplay: #115

“Perfect” is the biggest hit by Selena Gomez in 2018. It had a split chart run. Back in 2017 this song ended at #112 and just missed the year-end Top 100 of that year. This year it went all the way up to #57. “Perfect” spent three weeks at #3 in January 2018 and two weeks at #3 in December 2017. It absolutely should have been played more often, but during January I had a tough time and I didn’t listen to much music as in the later part of the year.

Pink – Whatever you want

Points: 1108.7
Peak: #9
Weeks: 21
Album: Beautiful trauma
Airplay: #55

In the scales in which Pink is measured her last album flopped. I’ve to say that I also like her previous album “The truth about love” more than this one. Nevertheless “Whatever you want” found its way into my Top 10 and stayed more than 20 weeks on my chart.
55 #1

Shaun – Way back home

Points: 1109.7
Peak: #11
Weeks: 19
Album: -
Airplay: #46

I first heard the cover of this song by Ysabelle Cuevas. So I gave this K-pop song which really sounds like an EDM song by artists as Martin Garrix, Felix Jaehn or many more a chance. This song really came out of nowhere so that there had been discussions about chart manipulation in South Korea because of the fact that Shaun has been a relatively unknown South Korean artist at the time of the release. Nevertheless “Way back home” peaked at #1 in his home country and recently Dutch DJ Sam Feldt covered this song with vocals by British singer Conor Maynard as Shaun feat. Conor Maynard – Sam Feldt Edit for the western market.

Kate Voegele – Crooked road

Points: 1111.9
Peak: #6
Weeks: 19
Album: Canyonlands
Airplay: #47

Kate Voegele has five hits in my year-end Top 100. The first one which can be found in this list is “Crooked road”. It deputed early in January and reached my Top 10 by the end of February. In March it peaked at #6 for two weeks.

Martin Garrix feat. Bonn – High on life
Points: 1120.3
Peak: #8
Weeks: 21
Album: -
Airplay: #45

Since 2013 Dutch DJ Martin Garrix is a regular guest in the charts. On my chart it is a little bit different. He had only five hits so far. Most of his song peaked down the chart. So it had been easy for “High on life” to outperform all these songs with a peak within my Top 10.

Kelly Clarkson – Medicine

Points: 1126.4
Peak: #10
Weeks: 21
Album: Meaning of life
Airplay: #60

Next in line is Kelly Clarkson. “Medicine” is her third appearance in the year-end Top 100. It is also an album cut so that it hadn’t any charting success. No problem for me as I love this album. “Medicine” started its chart run in March and peaked within the Top 10 for three weeks in May.

Noah Kahan feat. Julia Michaels – Hurt somebody

Points: 1139.9
Peak: #8
Weeks: 22
Album: -
Airplay: #29

Just in between all these male and female solo singers there you can find a duet. This time this duet is by US singer Noah Kahan and Julia Michaels. Julia Michaels is known since her hit “Issues” (failed to enter my chart). For Noah Kahan “Hurt somebody” had become his first “big” hit. He first released a solo version and later the duet version. I preferred the duet version which peaked at #8 in March.
