Emma – Incredibile voglia di niente

Points: 1313.4
Peak: #6
Weeks: 21 (still charting)
Album: Essere qui (boom edition)
Airplay: #60

The 3rd song by Emma and the second bonus track from the "Boom edition" of her album to be found on this list is "Incredibile voglia di niente" ("Incredible desire for nothing"). Once again she reached the Top 10 and once again the peak is lower than the last mentioned song by her in this list. The chart run for this song gave her this very good spot.

Lacy Cavalier – Blue suede couch

Points: 1318.1
Peak: #4
Weeks: 20
Album: K I’m done
Airplay: #9

Since some years my chart is definitely inspired by country songs. In at #29 is the highest ranked country song. It is by Lacy Cavalier who had some minor hits before. Her single "Blue suede couch" spent 15 weeks at the top of my country chart and peaked at #6 on my regular chart. 2019 is definitely a good year for her.

Anouk – It’s a new day

Points: 1325.5
Peak: #4
Weeks: 22
Album: -
Airplay: #22

Next in line is the 2nd song by Anouk and by the one it is the last one I mention her in this countdown. Although "It’s a new day" didn’t reach the charts it was omnipresent in Austria because of the fact that the German retailer DM took this song in his advertising campaign. On this song she showed that "Million dollar" is maybe a onetime flop and so "It’s a new day" easily reached the Top 10 where it peaked at #4.

LANY – I don’t wanna love you anymore

Points: 1325.8
Peak: #1 (1 week in 2018)
Weeks: 31
Album: Malibu nights
Airplay: #19

So LANY is back with their #1 song "I don’t love you anymore". Back in 2018 they reached #96 with this song in the year-end review. This year – which is no surprise – they did better and finished at #27. Combine this two years and "I don’t love you anymore" could easily finish in the Top 10 for the particular year.

Indiana Massara – I think we’re alone now

Points: 1398.6
Peak: #3
Weeks: 19
Album: -
Airplay: #32

Back in 1967 Tommy Jones and the Shondells released the song "I think we’re alone now". The song reached #1 in the UK and #4 in the USA and it was the start for a long cover history. In the 1980s the song was covered by Tiffany. It was her 2nd single and immediately brought her attention as this song reached #1 in the USA as well as in the UK (by the way it only reached #24 in Austria). The next notable chart success with this song had British band Girls Aloud when they reached #4 in the UK in 2006. Then in 2019 I discovered the cover by Australian teen singer Indiana Massara and this song eventually reached the Top 3. [Side note: In 2020 Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstong also covered this song and had some success.]

Topic feat. Alexander Tidebrink – The less I know

Points: 1440.0
Peak: #5
Weeks: 24
Album: -
Airplay: #17

German DJ Topic is releasing constantly singles since 2014. Before his single "The less I know" he had only minor success on my chart, but with this one he cracked the Top 10. "The less I know" peaked at #5 is so the 2nd best single by a DJ for me. His follow up "Breaking me" which has been released in December 2019 as a regular single is now his breakthrough, but I can’t stand this song which should be no offense.

24 #44

Carly Rae Jepsen – Now that I found you

Points: 1509.4
Peak: #3
Weeks: 20
Album: Dedicated
Airplay: #26

Earlier in this review I pointed out that Carly Rae Jepsen has no international success since the start of her career and the release of her monster hit "Call me maybe". So she can be really happy that "Now that I found you" entered an international chart which is Japan where this song peaked at #44. On my chart this song did better and eventually peaked at #3.

Edmund – Büdl an da Wond

Points: 1541.3
Peak: #3
Weeks: 18 (still charting)
Album: Freindschoft
Airplay: #80

Austrian newcomer band Edmund is named after Edmund "Mundl" Sackbauer a fictive character in the Austrian 1970’s TV series "Ein echter Wiener geht nicht unter" (literally: "A real Viennese does not go under"). In 2018 they released their debut album and later in 2019 their single "Büdl an da Wond" ("Picture on the wall") which brought them their first Top 3 hit on my chart.

Clara Mae – Sorry for writing all the songs about you

Points: 1557.2
Peak: #1 (4, 1 week in 2018)
Weeks: 29
Album: Sorry for writing all the songs about you
Airplay: #23

With her song "Sorry for writing all the songs about you" Swedish singer Clara Mae reached #1 late in 2018 and so she failed to enter the year-end review of that year. In 2019 she continued her success with three more weeks at the top and a peak at #29 in the year-end list of 2019.

21 #33

Emma – Io sono bella

Points: 1558.6
Peak: #1 (4)
Weeks: 14 (still charting)
Album: Essere qui
Airplay: #148

In September "Io sono bella" ("I am beautiful") was released by Emma as regular single from her album "Essere qui". And of course I charted this song too. By the end of November this song had spent four weeks at the top of the chart. With this song she is definitely back on track after losing some spirit with her other album.
