Week 521 – February 20th, 2021

LEA is defending the crown with "Schwarz" (#1, "Black"). Now she has spent 5 of 8 weeks at the top in 2021. Still in the runner's up position is "Willow" (#2) by Taylor Swift. As written last week it is hard to predict if this song will do the last step. Especially when there is "Allein" (#3, "Alone") by Gestört Aber GeiL feat. Tina Naderer climbing up one spot. This song is the major contender for the #1 in the next weeks. Dropping out of the Top 3 is former #1 "Über dich" (#4, "Over you") by Madeline Juno. The only other song holding its spot in the Top 5 is "Du tust es immer wieder" (#5, "You keep doing it") also by LEA.

Not far behind the Top 5 is in this week's edition "Coping" (#6) by Rosie Darling. Due to its 9th charting week I can't see an entry will happen. Also up one spot is "Knocking on my heart" (#7) by Frawley. This song should reach the Top 5 in the very near future. For the Cold War Kids everything is going in the right direction. Their song "Beyond the pale" (#8) climbed up two spots. Losing its spirit is "Happy" (#9) by Pink. This song dropped three spots. Rounding out this week's Top 10 is "The 1" (#10) by Taylor Swift which dropped one spot.

Last week a song in Italian was the greatest gainer of the week. This week the award goes to another Italian song. It is "Non c'è più musica" (#36, "There is no more music") by Mr. Rain feat. Birdy. Their song climbed up 15 spots and landed directly in the Top 40. This brings me to the highest debut. It is a duet by Jake Hoot and Kelly Clarkson. Their song "I would've loved you" (#47) from his EP "Love out of time" did very well and should rise up soon.
