Week 98 – January 12th, 2013

Samantha Jade is holding the top spot for one more week. In the end it had been a tough decision between her and Danish group The Storm. There song “Raver” is really going up for me. And it’s only a matter of time when they get their first #1 on my chart. Alanis Morissette dropped down one spot and is completing the Top 3 with “Receive”. This week she equalled the record for staying in the Top 3. “Anything at all” (#5) from Autumn Hill is new within the Top 5. Canadians country act is doing well with their first chart entry. Storming up the chart is also another Country or should I say now pop act. It’s Taylor Swift with her new song “I knew you were trouble” (#7). Christine Hödl has an on and off relationship with the Top 10. For the second time she dropped out with “Des geht si ned aus” (#13) after only one week.

Kelly Clarkson failed to enter the Top 10 with “Catch my breath” (#11) once more. The competition was no less this week. “Troublemaker” (#16) from Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida is for both acts the first chance to get in there. And the chance is big as this single is hot right now in Austria. Not to forget about Kate Voegele. “Unusual” (#15) is also on its way up the chart. The greatest gainer of the week is “Burn it down” (#66) from Australian Ricki-Lee who had a Top 10 hit a year ago with “Diamonds”.

This week’s highest new entry comes from US rocker Bon Jovi. There new single “Because we can” (#56) is very catchy and could do well. It’s no “It’s my life” which I’m associating with my graduation, but this is a good song. The second best new entry comes from my all-time favourite singer Anouk. “Stardust” (#60) is the promotional single from her upcoming album “Sad singalong songs”. A few weeks ago the last song from “To get her together” fall out and here she is again. “Stardust” is different to her other work, but her voice is still carries the song. The lyrics is enough to identify the mood of the album.

Other new entries are “Travel these streets” (#65) from Mic Donet, “What a night” (#70) from Mic Donet, “Mr. Mellow” (#78) from Anuhea, “Just give me a reason” (#81) from Pink feat. Nate Ruess, “Broken” (#93) from City Angels feat. Michelle Luttenberger, “So high” (#96) from Jay Sean and “Leave me now” (#98) from Michael Canitrot.
