Birdy - Light me up

Points: 1991.3
Peak: #1 (2)
Weeks: 27
Album: -
Chart Debut: March 29, 2014
First week at #1: June 7, 2014
Writer(s): Jasmine van den Bogaerde, Trey Starxx, Tom Hull
Producer(s): Rich Costey

In Austria Birdy had some hits with "People help the people" or "Wings" since 2012. On my chart she had minor success with these songs. Her biggest hit had been "Wings" (peak #26) until I began to chart her penultimate single "Light me up". This up-tempo sound and the contagious chorus lead her to her first #1 on my chart. I'd like to hear more from her in that direction.

Hilary Duff - All about you

Points: 2001,8
Peak: #1 (5)
Weeks: 17 (still charting)
Album: -
Chart Debut: August 30, 2014
First week at #1: September 20, 2014
Writer(s): Hilary Duff, Kristian Lundin, Savan Kotecha, Carl Falk
Producer(s): Kristian Lundin, Savan Kotecha, Carl Falk

It had been a long time ago when I listened to Hilary Duff song. Since "So yesterday" she had been out of my mind and her comeback single "Chasing the sun" didn't help. Then she released "All about you" as a second single from a future album. From the beginning I had the sound and the chorus in my head. It really burned into my head. It shot fast to #1 and stayed their for five weeks. Only two songs did better this year. "All about you" is the only song charting less than 20 weeks in my year-end Top 10.

Jillette Johnson - Last bus out

Points: 2026.9
Peak: #1 (1)
Weeks: 33
Album: Water in a whale
Chart Debut: November 23, 2013
First week at #1: February 15, 2014
Writer(s): Jillette Johnson
Producer(s): Peter Zizzo, Michael Mangini

Since releasing "Torpedo" Jillette Johnson is scoring several Top 10 hits. "Torpedo" had been my favourite song of 2014. This year she placed two songs within the year-end Top 10. Her first is "Last bus out" which had a split record for 2013 which probably got her into the Top 5 with this song. The song about the "What if" in a relationship did well and spent a half year in my Top 50.

Emma - Ma che vita fai
Points: 2166.8
Peak: #1 (2)
Weeks: 27 (still charting)
Album: Schiena
Chart Debut: June 21, 2014
First week at #1: August 16, 2014
Writer(s): Federica Camba, Daniele Coro
Producer(s): Brando

Emma is one of the biggest stars in Italy at the moment. Since she released "Tra passione e lacrime" (#10 in the year-end of 2012) I fell in love with her music. Although she had several #1's before with her album "Sarò libera" it had been the "Schiena" album which brought her unseen success on my chart. She spent nearly a year within the Top 10 with songs from that album and four songs from that album reached #1 including "Ma che vita vai" ("What kind of life you're living"). Although I can't speak Italian it is the refrain which is lifting the song to another level. It's no "L'amore non mi basta", but one of her best songs.

Ariana Grande feat. Iggy Azalea - Problem

Points: 2190.5
Peak: #1 (3)
Weeks: 30 (still charting)
Album: My everything
Chart Debut: May 31, 2014
First week at #1: July 19, 2014
Writer(s): Ariana Grande, Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, Ilya Salmanzadeh, Amethyst Kelly
Producer(s): Max Martin, Shellback, Ilya, Peter Carlsson

This song almost didn't find its way to my chart. When this song was launched I didn't payed much attention to it which is similar to "Break free". As I saw that this song climbed higher and higher in the charts I gave "Problem" a chance and what should I say. The problems got lost and this song shot to #1 where it stayed for three weeks.
