Week 361 – January 27th, 2018

This year is starting very difficult. On the one hand I’ve not time to listen a lot to music. On the hand most of the new music I don’t really like. So there are only handful new songs in this edition too. But let’s start with the good news first. I’ve got a new #1. Bishop Briggs scored her 2nd #1 and her first solo #1 with “Dream” (#1). She is followed by German Jennifer Rostock with her new smash “Haarspray” (#2, “Hairspray”). I doubt that this song will ever reach #1, mostly because of the fact that Kate Voegele is sprinting up with “Shoot this arrow” (#3). The Top 3 is mixed up with two new songs in it. So for the former #1’s “Pfeile” (#4, “Arrows”) by Tagtraeumer and “Beautiful trauma” (#5) by Pink only spots outside the Top 3 were available this week.

Directly behind the Top 5 is “Chasing time” (#6) by MisterWives. This is the only song beside “Shoot this arrow” which hasn’t surpassed the 10 weeks on the chart in my Top 10. Unbelievable how old my Top 10 is. The next one is “Perfect” (#7) by Selena Gomez which dropped two spots. Also two spots down is “Never give up on me” (#8) by MisterWives. The Top 10 is closed with two songs in German. At #9 you can find Schlager by Helene Fischer with “Achterbahn” (“Rollercoaster”) and at #10 it is indie rock by Wanda with their hit “Columbo”.

This week’s greatest gainer award is divided to three different songs. “Next to you” (#38) by Eli Lieb, “Downtown” (#39) by Anitta & J Balvin and “L’isola” (#50, “The island) by Emma climbed up 13 spots. The highest debuts are album cuts from “Restart” by Portuguese singer Aurea. “Listen what I say” (#60) and “Saint and sinner” (#61) are these songs. The other three debuts are also a little bit older and are from the TV series “Nashville”. These debuts are “Swept away” (#94) by Lennon Stella, “Ain’t it beautiful” (#97) by Chris Carmack and “All we ever wanted” (#98) by Lennon & Maisy Stella.
