Week 307 – January 14th, 2017

My favourite song at the moment is still “Talk too much” (#1) by Coin. For a 2nd week they are topping my chart, but there is some action behind them. Up two spots is Shannon LaBrie. For her “Alcohol” (#2) is her first single in my Top 3 and by next week it could be her first #1 on my chart. The podium completing is last weeks runner up and former #1 “Nostalgic” (#3) by Kelly Clarkson. These three songs are followed by an Anouk double pack. “If I knew” (#4) dropped one spot while “Not a lovesong” (#5) was holding its spot.

Leader of the 2nd part of my Top 10 is “Somebody else’s lover” (#6) by Juliette Claire. You know that I’m not a big fan of covers, but this one I really like and for me personally it is not really a cover as I’ve not heard the original song before I listened to the Juliette Claire version. Next in line is “Free & wild” (#7) by Kate Voegele which didn’t move. “Free & wild” is followed by three new additions to my Top 10. The highest one is by a girl band from the Netherlands. TP4Y climbed up seven spots with their single “Blush”. They are followed by a Selena Gomez double pack. “Survivors” (#9) and “Body heat” (#10) reached a top spot in their 9th week on chart.

Now to the greatest gainer and the new entries. This week The Veronicas did best with their recent single “On your side” (#35). This song rose up 14 spots. Directly behind the highest new entry can be found. It is by alternative act Scavenger Hunt. Over the last year I charted several singles from them. And now their early September 2016 release “Sweet talk” (#36) got its debut. In my eyes this song is so far their best release. Maybe this song is doing as well as the Coin single “Talk too much” and so it should reach my Top 10 at least.

The 2nd best new entry is by a well known artist. The 3rd single from Tove Lo’s album “Lady Wood” finally got is debut. It lasted a bit, but now I’m ready to chart “True disaster” (#58). “True disaster” is leading a bunch of new entries. On spot behind Ed Sheeran got his debut with “Shape of you” (#59). He got one more with “Castle on the hill” (#98), but “Shape of you” is definitely my favourite.
